Intro
Thinking is hard, and organizing thoughts is even harder. IBIS notation offers a visual way to structure your thinking.
This process is known as “reflective argumentation” (wiki).
The rules are simple - you create one of three elements:
- “Issue (question)” - a question that needs to be answered
- you can ask any question about any other element (issue, position, argument)
- “Position (answer)” - a possible answer to the issue
- “Argument (pro/con)” - supports or objects a given position (answer)
